Results of research in 1997 to General Atomics ( GA ) and Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory ( PPPL ) are reported. The author visited the computer system of fusion group in GA. He joined the tokamak experiment in DIII-D, especially on the demonstration of the remote experiment inside U.S., and investigated the data processing system of DIII-D and the computer network, etc. After the visit to GA, He visited PPPL and exchanged the information about the equipment of remote experiment between JAERI and PPPL based on the US-Japan fusion energy research cooperation. He also investigated the data processing system of TFTR tokamak, the computer network and so on. Results of research of the second visit to GA in 2000 are also reported, which describes a rapid progress of each data processing equipment by the advance on the computer technology in just three years.

As a part of the IFERC project (one of the 3 projects which consist the BA activities), the construction of the ITER Remote Experimentation Centre (REC) was started in 2014. The related devices will be installed in the computer which has already been built at the Rokkasho site. After the completion of the construction, the remote simulation will be performed using the tokamak to be a centre for promoting scientist participation in the future ITER experiment.

In the recent COVID-19 pandemic, it becomes important and big demands that MLF staff and users can access to the network inside J-PARC from outside in order to watch the current status of executing measurements and to control the devices at MLF experimental hall. MLF computing group has started the planning and making models about the MLF remote access in the technical term.
